The Kindergarten Transition Program will run every Friday on the following dates below for Term 3 and Term 4 2018.

The children will be collected from the Preschool at the beginning of Transition each Friday and walked across to the Kindergarten / 1 / 2  Classroom.

The children will participate in a range of activities including modelled reading, shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, interactive writing, guided writing, independent writing, numeracy, technology and craft.

Why is Transition Important?

Evidence suggests that children who have a positive start to school are likely to engage well and to   experience academic and social success. A Transition to School program can assist in achieving a   positive start to school.

Pianta (2004) writes that, "a good Transition to School process ensures children will start school ready to learn and schools will be ready for children".

The Transition to School Program at Mungindi Central School will build on your child's prior learning and develop strong links between Parents, the Preschool and School. There is much to be learned from    Parents and the Preschool about what children already know when they enter school.

If you would like your child to attend the Transition to School program at Mungindi Central School please complete the permission slip attached and return to Mungindi Central School Administration Office by Friday 17 August 2018.
